Meet the Founder

Rachel Matos is the Founder and CEO of Refined Media Group, a multicultural marketing agency recognized for blending creativity, culture, and strategy. Her career began in the arts, where she worked in museum education and curation after completing studies at the School of Visual Arts and Columbia University. The discipline of interpreting and presenting complex ideas in ways that resonate with diverse audiences shaped the foundation of how she approaches storytelling in marketing today.

Rachel later transitioned into digital media during the early days of influencer marketing. As Director of Social Media and Influencer Relations at the We All Grow Latina Network, she helped elevate Latine voices and created pathways for creators and brands to collaborate authentically. This work positioned her as a pioneer in an industry that was still in its infancy, and it built the groundwork for the agency she would later establish.

Over the course of her career, Rachel has led more than 500 national campaigns for global brands including McDonald’s, Verizon, Kia, and Dove. She has also served as a consultant to Creative Artists Agency (CAA), advising on influencer strategy as a Latina beauty brand expert.

Her expertise has been shared at conferences across the country, including UC Irvine, PRSA, Mom 2.0 Summit, #WeAllGrow Summit, and Alt Summit.

Through Refined Media Group, Rachel continues to build on her dual foundation of artistry and strategy, helping brands craft inclusive, culturally resonant campaigns that inspire audiences and deliver measurable growth.
